Dr. Thomas Kishen is a Spine Surgeon working at Manipal Hospital, Bangalore, India. He completed his basic Orthopaedic training (DOrtho) at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal and was awarded the ‘Dr. Premananda Nayak Gold Medal’ for standing first in the University. Following this, Dr Kishen trained at PSG Medical College, Coimbatore for the Diplomate of the National Board (Orthopaedics) and was awarded the ‘Professor M.V. Daniel Gold Medal’ for “Exemplary Commitment to Patient Care” during this period. He then went on to receive the ‘Dr. Balu Sankaran Gold Medal’ for “standing first in India in the “Diplomate of the National Board Exam” in Orthopaedics for the year 2001. Dr. Kishen undertook his Spine Surgery fellowship training at Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore and received the ‘ASSI-Depuy Best Spine Research Award’ during this period. He then spent five years in Sydney, Australia where he underwent advanced training in Spine Surgery at St George Hospital, University of New South Wales.
